Petr Teplý talked about cooperation of NPBIs and private sector

Prof. Petr Teplý, director of the ISF, delivered a presentation on “COOPERATION OF THE PRIVATE SECTOR WITH NATIONAL PROMOTIONAL BANKS AND INSTITUTIONS IN EUROPE” at the ELTI General Asembly in Prague on October 20, 2023.

The main conclusions of his presentation were as follows:
1. NPBIs should evaluate the multiplier effect of their products in order to make evidence-based decisions;
2. The maturity-lengthening role of NPBIs is more feasible when NPBIs are well-governed and have high monitoring skills
3. Under-capitalized NPBIs have limited capacity for long-term lending and financial instruments;

The discussion was chaired by Tomáš Nidetzký (NRB CEO) and interestingly insightful presentations were also given by Ms. Jitka Haubová (Komerční banka COO), Ms. Stanka Šarc Majdič (SID Banka: Member of the Management Board) and Ms. Sophie Barbier (CDC Director).
